Technology has always made industries more efficient, precise, and knowledgeable. One such trade that benefits from advances in technology is the real estate industry. There are thousands of companies and tools that promise to boost agents’ productivity, sales, and efficiency. With all the different applications that a real estate agent can choose from, it’s hard to know which ones to adopt. After careful research, Landmark Home Warranty has narrowed down six applications that can help busy real estate agents get their jobs done quickly and more efficiently.
Prices accurate as of time of publishing, October 2018.The Realtor Property Resource Application is a powerhouse of a tool for busy real estate agents. This application was designed by the National Association of Realtors and contains a database of information about a property’s price, history, schools, demographics, mortgage information, neighborhood, and more for over 160 million properties nationwide. Realtors can research commercial or residential properties, gather all the data a buyer or seller could need, and email a branded report to a client within minutes.
Cost: Free, if you pay your National Association of Realtor dues
For a Realtor who wants to make their listings a cut above the rest, using the MagicPlan app to make and feature floorplans is a must. All an agent has to do is use a phone or tablet to take pictures of a home's walls and corners to create a digital floor plan. Then, the app allows users to place cabinetry, windows, appliances and more within the floor plan. Agents can feature the floorplan on their listings, including 3-D models and (soon!) 360-degree video walkthroughs.
Cost: Free to download, but monthly subscriptions start at $8.33 a month.
For real estate agents who want an all-in-one transaction system, DotLoop is a great solution. With DotLoop, there’s no PDF being emailed, changed, emailed, changed, with 10 different versions and confusing both buyers and sellers. DotLoop has one document where both buyers and sellers along with their agents come together to edit and sign, as well as communicate and collaborate about the changes that are being made and what buyers and sellers are being asked to sign. DotLoop deals with secure sending, signing, and storage of every real estate transaction document. The DotLoop system also includes broker dashboards to ensure the transactions are compliant and transactions are as efficient as possible.
Cost: Free to start, $30 a month for more functionality
Collecting leads at open houses can be tricky for some agents, especially when it comes to deciphering untidy handwriting and evaluating which visitors are a great lead and which are a dead end. Enter the Spacio Open House application. Spacio captures open house visitors’ information in a clean, precise way, asks them questions, connects to public data and uses an algorithm to determine which leads are the most qualified. Spacio can also integrate with many CRMs so the leads a real estate agent captures at an open house can be contact quickly and easily.
Cost: $25 a month for agents.
HomeSnap Pro is the mobile app version of HomeSnap that’s targeted toward real estate agents. This app connects qualified buyers and sellers to real estate agents and lets them communicate and seamlessly share listings all on the app. HomeSnap Pro also gives Realtors access to create and place ads on four major social networks and provides safety features for agents when they’re showing a home.
Cost: Free to download, different costs associated with different aspects of the application.
Every real estate agent knows how important it is to have a social media presence, especially with millennial buyers. However, not every real estate agent has the time or skill level required to create social posts, web pages, flyers, and more. Adobe Spark was created for business leaders who want to grow their business with a social and design presence but don’t have the technical tools. Spark is free, but for $10 a month, real estate agents can add their own branding and create ready-to-print or share graphics and posts. From videos, Instagram posts, and social ads to printable business cards and flyers, Spark can make any real estate agent an efficient designer.
Cost: Free, $10 a month for branded options.

All real estate agents know how important it is to include a home warranty when selling a home. According to a study released by the Service Contract Industry Council, homes protected with home warranties sold faster and for more money. When purchasing a home warranty plan for their clients, most agents assume that they'll have to call the company. However, with Landmark Home Warranty, Real Estate Agents don't have to call to order a home warranty. They can order online or even on their smart phone by going to www.landmarkhw.com/order/realestate.
