Landmark Home Warranty Named One of the Best Businesses to Work For in Utah

Landmark Home Warranty was rated one of the best companies to work for in Utah for the third year in a row.

For the third year in a row, Landmark Home Warranty has been named one of Utah’s best businesses to work for by Utah Business Magazine. Landmark Home Warranty has been featured on the list since 2016.

Each year, Utah Business Magazine does a rigorous examination of Utah companies, which includes conducting anonymous employee surveys. The magazine scrutinizes each Utah company’s culture, benefits, pay, internal communication, opportunities, and employee pride. Then, they create the list of Utah’s Best Businesses to Work For, separated by company size. Landmark Home Warranty was honored on the Medium Companies portion of the list.

Chris Smith, President of Landmark Home Warranty, said he is pleased that Landmark continues to be named one of the best companies to work for in Utah.

“Knowing that this is the third year we’ve been featured on the list of best employers in Utah makes me proud to be a part of Landmark,” he said. “The best way to have a successful company is to treat your employees right.”

Landmark Home Warranty was ranked highly on their benefits package.

One of the many reasons Utah Business Magazine placed Landmark on the list was the company’s benefit package. Some of the benefits include paid parental leave, 401K matching, rolling PTO, and healthcare plans with health savings accounts.

Ben Gilchrist, Human Resources Director, said the benefit packages are designed to keep Landmark’s hard-working employees happy and healthy.

“We want our employees to feel protected, safe, and secure at work, which is why we have designed our benefits packages to be so thorough,” he said. “In addition to our healthcare packages that are covered up to 80% by the company, we provide free counseling services for our employees for everything from addiction to family therapy.”

Landmark Home Warranty's health and wellness package helped ensure their employees are happy with where they work.

Landmark’s commitment to bettering their employees is evident. They also offer employees a discounted gym membership and college tuition reimbursement up to $2,000 a year for full-time employees.

Crystal Griffiths, Email Marketing Manager, said the dedication to expanding employees’ skills both through education and in the field is one of the reasons she loves working at Landmark.

“Landmark strives to be the best in the industry, which results in each of us being challenged to think outside of the box,” she said. “At Landmark we learn the latest and greatest tools that are available for us to use.”

Landmark Home Warranty’s company culture was another reason they were placed on the list. Landmark has a culture specialist, Kimberly Pechin, who plans company-wide activities multiple times a month.

Kortney Koopman, Real Estate Service Specialist, said the company activities are her favorite part of working for Landmark Home Warranty.

“Our summer parties are always great, all our gifts and raffles make it fun, even if I never win!” she said.

One of the largest company activities each year is the Landmark Summer Party, where the Landmark Dreams program happens. Each year, employees are able to nominate their fellow co-workers to have a lifelong dream come true. An anonymous panel goes through all the submissions and chooses two to three employees to give a Landmark Dream.

Landmark Home Warranty's culture and commitment to caring for their employees helped solidify their rank as one of the best places to work in Utah.

This year, Jami Stensrud, Quality Specialist, was awarded a Landmark Dream trip for her and her four children.

“Landmark made my family's biggest dream come true this year with an absolutely incredible trip to New York,” she said. “As a single mom of 4 there is no way I could have ever done this on my own, and I am so grateful to Landmark for giving us that memory.

Gilchrist said in the past being placed on the list helped bring talented employees to Landmark Home Warranty, and he hopes this year’s list continues that tradition.
